The Mess Hall Is Turning Into a Clubhouse This December

The Moment Group's The Mess Hall. It used to be exactly what it sounds like, a cafeteria of sorts to the company employees that is, until its hospitable owners decided it was too good a concept not to share with the public. But it's become more than a feeding ground for the hungry yet discerning diners in the Pasong Tamo area. Since it opened in 2016, The Mess Hall acts as the trial ground for the group's freshest ideas, an experimental den where they can test out new concepts (like Ooma's immensely popular poke bowl, released a few months ago) and peddle outstanding stuffed cookies.


While those cookies are thankfully still around, The Mess Hall has reinvented itself yet again for Christmas. Instead of testing out one or two dishes, the whole place has been converted into a pop-up—a plan that took months of R&D to perfect. 

Up until December 29, guests can forget about the usual self-service and find themselves seated and waited on. Think country clubhouse. Instead of the handful of choices, there are forty dishes are at your disposal: sizzling gambas in a cazuela, Bolognese pasta that'll remind you of mom's, and other familiar fare like buttermilk fried chicken and seared hanger steak with mashed potatoes.

Parmesan soup

The Mess Hall clubhouse will also introduce soups and salads, but because this is still a creative hub, expect a spin on club favorites like the Caesar salad or something completely new like a parmesan soup. Servings will also expand to sharing portions.

Along with this momentary reinvention, the Mess Hall will also be open for two weekends; and on December 29, they will have a buffet, complete with roast beef carvings, a Mongolian buffet, and a bibingka and puto bumbong station. After December, it’s back to regular programming, so eat while you can.
