WATCH: How to Build The Home Bar of Your Dreams

These days, we’re all looking for ways to cope with cabin fever. After months stuck at home, a man’s sanity can depend on whether or not he gets sufficient respite from all the conference-call meetings and the household chores ad nauseam—not to mention the relentless news cycle. It helps to shake off the stress in whatever way you can.
One such way: the simple pleasure of having a good drink after a long day. Of course, because bars are mostly out and we’ve got a curfew hanging over us, you’re going to have to mix that drink yourself now, at home. Which means you’re going to need a home bar.
I mean, sure, you could just as well keep a pantry stocked with good whisky and sip it neat. But if you’d like to learn to mix yourself a proper drink—an essential skill, especially for these trying times—you need the equipment for it. You need a setup.
Good thing a home bar doesn’t have to be complicated. If you don’t have one yet, it’s easy enough to get started. All you really need are the right tools, a rotation of basic cocktail recipes, and the willingness to try something new.
