Scientists Discover COVID-19 Attacks the Immune System Just Like HIV

Sars-CoV-2, the virus responsible for the current COVID-19 pandemic, turns out to be a very lethal virus. It has been discovered that it can destroy the body’s powerful T-cells, which are responsible for recognizing and destroying foreign invaders in the body.
According to researchers from the U.S. and China, Sars-CoV-2 was able to destroy the T-cells in a lab experiment. That was unexpected.
To be sure, the researchers also performed the same experiment with the virus’s close cousin, the SARS virus. They found that the SARS virus had no effect on the T-cells.
The study was prompted by COVID-19 patients whose T-cells had dropped significantly, even to the point of the complete destruction of the body’s immune system.
“More and more people compare it to HIV,” a doctor told the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post. Few viruses in the world have achieved the notoriety of attacking the body’s formidable immune system. Many of them have no cure, and Ebola is one of them.
In mainland China, at least 20 autopsy reports from patients who died of COVID-19 state that the patients’ immune systems were “almost completely destroyed.” According to doctors who examined the bodies, the patients’ organs suffered damages as if the patients suffered from SARS and AIDS combined.
We are facing a much deadlier and much smarter virus than ever before. It has the virulence of the common cold and the deadliness of the biblical plagues. It can pretend to be eliminated, only to resurface among “cured” patients days later.
If the COVID-19 virus further mutates to have the ability to totally disable the immune system just like in Ebola and AIDS cases, it would mean that vaccines will have no effect on the virus.
As of April 15, the Philippines has recorded 5,453 cases of COVID-19, with 353 recoveries and 349 deaths. Worldwide, the confirmed number of cases is at 2,063,161, with 512,032 recoveries and 136,938 deaths.
