Makati Barangay Forces Pacquiao and His Family to Self Quarantine

The barangay wants the boxer and senator to be a model example.

The posh Barangay Dasmariñas in Makati City has issued a notice to boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao urging him and his family to stay home. In the notice signed by Brgy. Dasmariñas Chairwoman Rossana Hwang, Pacquiao was identified as a Person Under Monitoring (PUM) after photos of him and Senator Koko Pimentel at a party at his house went viral, according to a report by the Philippine Star

“Many of your colleagues in Senate (sic) have been identified as COVID positive,” the notice reads. “Therefore you have to be quarantined at your own house.

“For your own family and household’s safety, please have yourself self-quarantined, STAY HOME No one, including any of your household (sic) can come out. If you need something, please call the barangay (phone number redacted). We can procure things for you and send it to your doorstep.

“This was the recommendation of doctors from Makati Medical Center who is also a resident here (sic). And recommended by Makati Health Department.

“Please be a model example,” the notice ends.

Senator Pacquiao’s colleagues in the Senate—Senator Migz Zubiri, Senator Sonny Angara, and Senator Pimentel have all tested positive for COVID-19.
