In an interview with PEP.ph, Raymond fondly recalled the time when he auditioned for the role. "6:00 a.m. na nang umaga kami umuwi mula sa taping ng Pusong Ligaw, at 9:00 a.m. ang audition sa Kinetek Productions, so nagpunta ako.

"Pagdating ko doon, nakilala ko si Matthew Rosen and his wife Lorena [producer of the movie]. Matthew said, 'Raymond, you're a favorite actor of my wife.'

"I thought I already got the role, tapos sabi niya, 'Are you ready to audition?'

"I was like, 'Huh?' My brain was not working, wala pa akong tulog.

"He gave me a really long script, a long speech. Wala pa ako sa sarili ko, wala pa akong tulog.

"Sabi ko, 'Of course, I’m here. I will do it.' I did the speech.

"I told Matthew, 'Can I read it without embellishing it?'

"Hindi ako maglalagay ng kung anong acting. Hindi ko aartehan ang karakter. Puwede ko bang basahin 'to from the heart? Yung natural lang para lumabas yung totoo.

"So I did it... it was heartfelt. Then Matthew said, 'Can you add the Spanish accent?'

"I did it and everyone was clapping. I said, wow I did well and then Matthew said, 'Okay, we will give you a call," Raymond ended.

He initially thought that he failed to get the role. But after two months, they called him back. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Aside from being all over TV for guestings and promotions for the movie, he is also currently trending on social media for his inspiring Instagram posts about health and fitness.

As a fitness enthusiast, Raymond only seems to get more toned with age. And according to him, it’s all about “training smart rather than training long.” He’s been actively working out in the gym, doing martial arts, and practicing yoga. He also watches what he eats.

After 5 Sets of Weighted Pull-ups and 3 Sets of slightly heavy Kettlebell Deadlifts. ( Gradually strengthening my Lower Back again ). Physique Update. @ 141 lbs . I am noticing I keep leaning out, though I feel more muscularly full these days. Much lighter, yes, yet solid and more pronounced. My new Circuit Weight Training of only 2-3 Sets of 10-12 exercises, within more or less 30 mins or so are the reason for this, I believed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Of course, as I have mentioned in my other posts before, from my experimentations, good physique is about Training Smart, rather than Training long. Efficiency and Nutritional Timing. Which for me is around 80-90 % where Gains is built. Have a #fitspirational day ahead. #shirtlessquezon #beneathbeingpresidentquezon #physiqueupdate #ripped #abs #Leanandhappy #actor #actorslife #aestheticphysiquemodel #aestheticphysiqueupdate #lightbutsolid

I missed my short, but intense training. Biked for more than 30 minutes right after my morning meditation. Then headed straight to weight training.
