The Best Lays Are People Who Have Courage
We’ve cracked the big secret for getting the best sex of your life: Do it with people who are brave and confident (kinkiness is optional).
This is according to Dr. Margie Holmes, renowned sex therapist who never shies away from the dirty details of sex. In the latest episode of Esquire Philippines’ Lonely Hearts podcast, Dr. Holmes gives us her unfiltered advice on sexuality, toxic masculinity, and finding the best sex.
“I think for really good sex, you need to courage—the courage to be yourself and the courage not to be frightened with someone,” shared Holmes. “In my clinical experience, the best lays are people who have courage—people who can be honest about themselves, who can look at themselves, and be honest and not lie.”
That’s pretty deep (pun intended) for a sex talk, but it hits all the right spots (pun also intended).
As the Lonely Hearts host and Esquire's editor at large Sarge Lacuesta puts it, “The best lays are people who are honest to themselves and open, because there's a certain amount of bawdiness involved in it, in which you are able to fully enjoy your own body.”
So there you go. It’s not about position number 14 in a sex magazine or the amount of Valium you’re popping. What’s most attractive is putting yourself out there, physically and emotionally. Easier said than done, but Dr. Holmes advice is a great place to start.
