PBA Greats Show They Mean Business Ahead of 'Return of Rivals' Games
The games are no more than an exhibition matches in the name of charity, but don't expect these PBA greats to go easy on each other.
Former PBA stars who played for San Miguel, Alaska, Purefoods, and Barangay Ginebra showed they mean business when they buckled down to work ahead of the ‘Return of the Rivals’ exhibition games on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Former players have posted photos on their social media pages from practices in preparation of the exhibition game organized by the PBA Legends Foundation for less fortunate former professional players.
The games will pit San Miguel against Alaska and Purefoods against Ginebra.
‘’Yung Manila Clasico, rivalry talaga. Pinaghahandaan ng both teams,” said former Purefoods star Alvin Patrimonio. “Siyempre, ‘yung challenge, ‘yung competitiveness kapag kalaban ang Ginebra, lalabas ‘yan sa game on Sunday.”
The Beermen on Tuesday held their practice at the Pasig Sports Center with Allan Caidic leading the team.
Not to be outdone, the legends of Alaska have also been preparing at the Aces’ current training facility at the Gatorade Hoops Dome.
Patrimonio, meanwhile, led Purefoods in their training recently at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Former Ginebra stars also came out in full force, with no less than former playing-coach Robert Jaworski overlooking practice at Corinthian Gardens.
