Yuka Saso Wins U.S. Women's Open

Yuka Saso has become the first Filipino to win a golf major today. A Bulacan native, Saso was born to a Filipino mother and a Japanese father. Ricky Razon's ICTSI is currently the golf star's biggest backer. Saso won $1 million at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open purse, beating Japan's Nasa Hataoka at The Olympic Club.
Saso came from a two-over-par 74 setback, fighting two double bogeys to salvage her play. She eventually caught up with Lexi Thompson and overtook Hataoka. Hataoka finished with a 40-under par ahead of Saso and Thompson.
Hataoka and Thompson parred the first two playoff holes, with Saso draining a 10-foot birdie in the third playoff hole, becoming the youngest winner of the U.S. Women's Open at 19 years old since Inbee Park.
