Should it push through, tourists could soon get to visit the Chocolate Hills, Loboc River, Panglao Island and the tarsier habitats in a matter of weeks, as long as quarantines permit. New classifications are due on Oct. 1.

Before Bohol Boracay and Baguio will reopen on Oct. 1, following Tagaytay City.

Tourism Sec. Bernadette Romulo Puyat earlier said quarantines that have been in place since March led to a 75% drop in international arrivals. Of the 5.7 million tourism industry workers, 4.8 million either lost their jobs or took pay cuts.

"I understand Bohol might be opening soon within the month of October if I'm not mistaken," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said. "Unti-unti naman pong nagbubukas ang ating mga tourist spots (We are slowly reopening our tourist spots)."
