El Nido's Secret Lagoon Is Hailed As One of the Best Beaches in the World

They’re not wrong.

When it comes to beaches, only a handful of countries can rival the Philippines. With our white sand beaches, stunning rock formations, and untouched seas, the Philippines’ boasts some of the most majestic—and underrated—beaches in the world. It’s no wonder people flock from all over the world just to experience the crystal blue waters of the archipelago.

One beach that’s worthy of international acclaim is El Nido’s Secret Lagoon, which was just named the sixth-best beach in the world by Big 7 Travel. The travel authority ranked 50 best beaches in the world and found Secret Lagoon worthy of a spot in the list of the world's best.

“El Nido is a cluster of 45 islands just off the tip of Palawan, which is famous for its Secret Lagoon. Swim through a hole in the limestone rocks to enter a hidden bay with crystal clear water, white sandy beaches, and tropical jungle,” wrote the travel site.

Palawan outranked beaches in the Bahamas, Seychelles, and Greece for a spot in the top 10. First place went to Playa Conchal in Costa Rica, followed by Turquoise Bay in Australia, Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, Siesta Beach in Florida, and Punta Mosquito in Mexico. The list favored the world’s undiscovered gems over tourist hotspots.

While we’re sure the other beaches are all pretty, you can’t blame us for thinking El Nido’s Secret Lagoon trumps them all. I mean, just look at it?
