Palawan Has Been Named the Second Best Island in the World

It's that time of the year again: global travel site Big Travel 7 has unveiled its latest list of the best islands in the world and—surprise, surprise—Palawan has been named the second-best (ending up on the top five again).
Each year, the site releases its ranking of the best islands as a vacation guide. So, it's always fun to see Palawan rank as we can share the destination with the rest of the world—as safe and sustainable as possible, of course.
Lummi Island in Washington topped this year's list, followed by Palawan in the Philippines and Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu. It's also interesting to note that Cebu made it to the list this year. That's a two for two!
Check out the full top 10 from the list below.
- Lummi Island, Washington
- Palawan, Philippines
- Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu
- Sommarøy, Norway
- Korcula, Croatia
- Fraser Island, Australia
- Pemba Island, Zanzibar
- Barbados
- Flatley Island, Iceland
- Bora Bora, French Polynesia
The ranking doesn't just pull out islands to include out of thin air. It also scores islands based on previous media results along with the editorial team's contributions. "This diverse list spans from tropical cays in Puerto Rico to the archipelago islands of Iceland. From Mallorca to the Maldives, consider this your essential vacation guide," the site said in a release.
Now excuse us as we add more islands to our travel bucket list.
