We already know the Philippines is one of the world’s best travel destinations, but it never hurts when we hear it from non-Filipinos. The World Travel Awards is a platform that seeks to “acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.”
In the 2021 edition of the awards, the Philippines was nominated in no less than five categories. The Department of Tourism made the announcement earlier on Thursday (October 14). The categories are:

According to the WTA, the nominees “feature the winners of WTA’s regional categories (Europe, Asia, Oceania, Middle East, South America, Central America, North America, Africa, Indian Ocean & Caribbean) going head-to-head for the highest accolade in the industry.”
Voting for the awards is open to travel industry professionals, the media, and consumers—which means pretty much everybody—worldwide. Voters just need to sign up on the WTA website and cast their vote until 24th October 2021. The nominee gaining the most votes in a category will be named the winner.
