See Inside The Henry Resort Dumaguete, the Buzziest New Place to Stay in Negros Oriental
A cool and contemporary resort has been missing from Dumaguete for quite some time. There are plenty of resorts around the city that maybe went a bit too far with the whole tropical paradise shtick. But, sometimes, you just want to stay in a place that has a lot of character and soul.
Enter The Henry Resort Dumaguete, which opened in January 2021 and has taken over the former South Sea Resort. Owned by The Henry Hotels & Resorts, the property has just the right dose of charm with modern upgrades when it comes to comfort.

The Henry Resort Dumaguete is the first resort in the hotel group's brand.
The property sits on the same plot of land where the South Sea Resort formerly stood. Instead of starting from scratch, the group revived and reimagined the site as The Henry Resort Dumaguete in an effort to "[keep] the remnants of the past resort's beauty."
The property is designed by renowned interior designer Eric Paras.
The Henry Hotels & Resorts' signature mix of Western, Asian, and Latin influences can clearly be seen in each space including the lobby (pictured above).
The sprawling boutique resort has 32 rooms spread across eight villas.
The surrounding areas are marked by lush gardens and communal spaces filled with heritage art pieces sourced from different parts of the country.
Each room in the resort is artfully decorated with local works by artisans from Cebu, as well as pieces from the personal collection of The Henry's innkeeper.
Premier Villa Suite
The villa's amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, cable television, mini bar, tea-making facility, writing desk, sofa bed, in-room safe, luggage rack, refrigerator, and Bath Origins toiletries.
The facilities include a lounge pool framed by lush greenery.
The property also has an eight-foot dive pool, conservatory, courtyard, open lawn, local store, and an in-house art gallery by León Gallery.
