If you’re the type to go all out on a revenge trip when that happens, then you might want to make the most of your splurge and book a stay at The Shilla Seoul.
Considered one of the most expensive hotels in Korea, the establishment is just one of many under Hotel Shilla, a luxury hotel operator under The Samsung Group. At its helm is Lee Boo Jin, an accomplished businesswoman and the president and CEO of the hospitality chain.
Among its opulent portfolio of properties, The Shilla Seoul, in particular, is favored by high-profile personalities who get to bask at its dynamic interiors—an elegant mix of traditional Korean heritage and contemporary design. It’s also become a prime wedding venue for many celebrities like Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, Jun Ji Hyun, Yoo Jae Suk, and Jeon Do Yeon.
The Shilla Seoul is located at the city’s Jung District. It puts guests right at the center of Seoul’s lifestyle hub, from sightseeing, to cultural activities, to shopping haunts, and even access to easy transportation. The hotel also boasts stunning views of the famous Namsan Tower.
The establishment is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World group, an organization that represents world-class hotels known for their top-of-the-line luxury services. As per their website, The Shilla Seoul offers guests a free shuttle that will take them to frequented commercial areas like Myeong-dong and Dongdaemun.
Lodging at this 5-star hotel for standard rooms can range from P17,000 to P25,000 a night. The Grand Corner Deluxe, the largest of the three options, features a yacht-concept private bar and a view of the Namsan Mountain.
Should you have the means for their more swanky accommodations, The Shilla’s executive and suite rooms will cost one P34,000 to P275,000 a night. The latter price range accounts for the Shilla Suite—159 square meters of pure splendor, built with a sauna, a living room, an office, and a separate dining room.
Your stay at the renowned hotel won’t be complete without a gastronomic dining experience. Guests can choose from five options depending on the cuisine of their choice, but La Yeon, a Michelin 3-star restaurant, is your best bet if you’re craving for authentic Korean food.
For more stores to peruse, though, The Shilla has its own Duty Free located near the hotel. With 400 shops at your disposal, you won’t have to worry about shopping for last-minute gifts to take home.
