Bill Gates Predicted the Coronavirus Pandemic
Bill Gates is many things we are not: genius, billionaire, philanthropist. But a lesser known descriptor should be added to the list—Prophet of Doom.
For years, Gates has been hopping around the world, warning governments and people: A pandemic will arrive within the decade, and we are not prepared for it.

Gates first emphasized this problem in 2015 when he delivered a TED Talk. In the talk, he compared how countries are so well prepared for nuclear war, which is unlikely to happen than a pandemic, which is already brewing in regions around the world.
“There's one area though where the world isn't making much progress and that's pandemic preparedness,” said Gates.
In 2018, Gates repeated the same warning and told everyone that a coming disease could kill 30 million people, and we should prepare for it as if we were preparing for war.
“There is a reasonable probability the world will experience such an outbreak in the next 10 to 15 years,” said Gates in 2017.
But it came much earlier than he predicted.
The novel coronavirus was detected in 2019, and successfully spread around the world in 2020, killing hundreds of thousands of people. Gates had been incessant in warning us about this.
Bill Gates’ Next Prediction
Now that we realize how accurate Gates’ pandemic prediction is, it pays to listen to the billionaire’s next prediction. And it is sobering.
Here are some of them.
More treatments will fail.
According to Gates, treatments will initially show promise, but others will be modest in their effectiveness against COVID-19.
Poorer countries will struggle in eliminating the disease.
“The less developed a country’s economy is, the harder it is to make the behavior changes that reduce the virus’ reproduction rate,” Gates wrote in his blog.
The world will live in an abnormal existence until a vaccine is created.
Gates thinks that will take up to 18 months.
