Francis Magalona's 'Bagsakan' Uniform Sells for P620,000

Filipino rock band Parokya ni Edgar put up for auction the late Francis Magalona’s outfit worn in their Bagsakan music video to raise funds for the hospital bills of band member Gab Chee Kee, who is recovering from surgery because of lymphoma or cancer of the lymph system.
The auction for the school uniform launched on March 2 with a starting bid of P100,000. Hours after opening the auction, the band received a bid of P200,000. A day later, someone offered a bid of P300,000, only to be outbid at P350,000 a few hours later. On the next day, someone raised the bid to P500,000, fulfilling the wish of Parokya of “sana umabot ng 500k.”
The bidding war continued on the third day, with another anonymous bidder raising P550,000. This amount would remain unchallenged for two days, until another anonymous bidder raised it to P600,000.
“We received multiple bids but were lower than P600,000,” Parokya wrote on their page.
Finally, with only nine hours left until the auction closes, someone raised the bid to P620,000, which remained unchallenged until the auction closed on March 6, 2009, the death anniversary of rap and OPM icon Francis “Kiko” Magalona.
Currently, the unique merchandise from the late Francis Magalona, who died of leukemia, drew the highest bids from Parokya ni Edgar’s series of fundraisers for their rhythm guitarist Gab Chee Kee.
Lead singer Chito Miranda earlier auctioned off his own Bagsakan Uniform, which closed at P150,000. He was also able to sell the two puppets that appear on the album cover of Halina sa Parokya for P85,000.
Bagsakan is the title of the band's 2009 hit rap track featuring Magalona and Gloc-9. Watch Bagsakan below.
