15 Filipino Startups Advance to IdeaSpace's 2021 Acceleration Program

Three will be chosen for the IdeaSpace Opportunity Fund.

IdeaSpace just announced the 15 lucky startups that will advance to its 2021 Acceleration Program and each receive a P100,000 cash grant. The chosen startups will now go through IdeaSpace’s rigorous four-month program that will develop the early-stage startups into stable, scalable, and sustainable businesses through the program’s mentorships, workshops, networks, and legal services.

“The startups in our 2021 cohort for the IdeaSpace Acceleration Program offer the solutions, the technology, the innovations, and the businesses that have the potential to propel our country forward and shape the new normal,” said IdeaSpace executive director Katrina Rausa Chan.

The 15 startups beat out hundreds of other applicants for a coveted spot in the program after impressing the judging panel made up of the MPIC-backed IdeaSpace team, the MVP Group of Companies, select investors, and select startup founders.

“Every startup in this cohort delivers digital-first solutions and we need that now more than ever. We’ve seen the variety of the industries that these startups represent, which only goes to show that no matter your category, you will have to quickly adapt in these changing times and find ways to integrate digital in your products and services to provide relevant solutions,” said Rene "Butch" Meily, president of IdeaSpace.

The 15 lucky startups are:

1| Fitscovery, an online fitness program marketplace
2| Splore Fitness, a marketplace that connects coaches with customers
3| XalMeds, an online concierge pharmacy
4| Pic-A-Talk, which offers communication tools with children on the autism spectrum
5| Circula Recoon, a cleantech startup that transports trash to recycling and composting sites
6| Dirty Bag, an online laundry service
7| Oh My Genie!, a shopping assistant
8| Betterteam, a HR tech solution startup
9| Pasajob, a long-chain referral-based job platform
10| Xperto, an online event platform
11| Peddlr.io, a free POS app for small businesses
12| Twala, a blockchain-powered e-signature platform
13| Pieza PH, an auto and motor sports e-commerce platform
14| Fishbee, a community-supported fishery platform
15| Instahomes, a software provider that works primarily with local real estate developers

At the end of the Acceleration Program, three startups will be chosen by IdeaSpace to invest in through the IdeaSpace Opportunity Fund. Aside from co-founding the QBO Innovation Hub in 2016, the foundation has mentored and supported over 100 Filipino startups since 2012.
