BSP is Selling P10,000 Coins—For P127,500 Each

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will be selling P10,000 commemorative coins made of gold to celebrate the 70th anniversary of BSP. The catch? The coins cost P127,500—each.
Meanwhile, the P500 silver commemorative coin will be sold for P3,500 per piece.
"These coins are non-circulation legal tender," the BSP said.
Interested coin collectors can place their orders at [email protected] The deadline for all orders is January 15, 2020. Orders will be accepted on a “first mail-in, first listed” basis.
The prices might seem outlandish to some, but coin collecting has become a lucrative business over the years. Many are willing to spend thousands if not millions on rare coins that could rise in value in the coming years. The most expensive coin in the world, called the Flowing Hair Silver Dollar from 1794, is valued at a whopping $10 million.
