Where Does the Philippines Rank in List of Countries With the Most Starbucks Branches in the World?

We already know the story of the first Starbucks store in the Philippines: how it opened in 1997 at the 6750 building in Makati City, and that it was only the third international location for the Seattle, Washington-based coffee company.
But how much has Starbucks grown since then? How many Starbucks are there exactly here in the Philippines today? And where do we rank compared to the rest of the world?
According to Statista, the Philippines ranks just outside the Top 10 of the countries with the most Starbucks branches. Its home country, the United States, is at number one, of course, with 15,041 stores as of September 2019. About 8,791 of these are company-owned, while 6,250 are licensed.

China is at number two with 4,123 stores, all of which are company-owned. While the country only has a quarter of the stores that the US has, the growth rate according to Statista has been extremely high, reaching almost 700 percent over the past 10 years.
At third place is Canada, with 1,175 company-operated and 432 licensed stores, for a total of 1,607.
The rest of the Top 10 are: Japan (1,379 stores), South Korea (1,334), United Kingdom (995), Mexico (748), Turkey (494), Taiwan (480), and Indonesia (420).
At 11th place is the Philippines with 397 stores as of 2019.
However, that figure might need to be updated. Based on the list of branches that Starbucks Philippines came out with on December 30 for its holiday schedule, there are currently 367 branches in the country. If that’s the case, the Philippines will slip to 12th, and Thailand will move to 11th with 392 branches.
In any case, there’s no stopping Starbucks’ continuous growth worldwide. As of the end of 2019, there were over 31,300 Starbucks stores globally (including other brands that the company owns such as Siren Retail and Teavana).
“In 2018, for the first time, there were more international Starbucks stores than in the U.S., a figure that grew even more in 2019 to a total of 16,200 (not including other segments owned by Starbucks),” according to Statista. "Over 14,000 new Starbucks stores opened globally in the past 10 years - the store count growing by over 70 percent since 2008."
