Billionaire businessman Dennis Uy has resigned as president of Dito CME Holdings Corp., the media arm of Uy’s Udenna Corp. Despite stepping down as president of the company, Uy remains on the board as Chairman and CEO.

He has been replaced by Ernesto R. Alberto, an independent director, as the new president of Dito CME. Alberto has worked with PLDT and Citbank in the past.

In a public disclosure, Dito CME stated that the “change shall foster an appropriate balance of power, increased accountability, and better capacity for independent decision-making.”

Dito CME has previously shared its plans to enter the digital industry, particularly in “communications, media, and entertainment.” There is no news yet if they plan to start a new organization.

Dito CME is the media counterpart of Uy’s Dito Telecommunity, which is set to launch in 2021.
