Elon Musk Has Just Announced That You Can Buy a Tesla Using Bitcoin

Elon Musk has spoken: You can now buy a Tesla using Bitcoin.
Just last month, Tesla disclosed that it bought $1.5 billion in Bitcoin. Buying Tesla cars with the digital currency seems like the next rational step, naturally. Thanks to Musk, the price of Bitcoin jumped five percent after the announcement.
In a series of tweets, the Tesla technoking said: "You can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin. Tesla is using only internal & open source software & operates Bitcoin nodes directly. Bitcoin paid to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, not converted to fiat currency."
Right now, the mode of payment is only available in the U.S. If you check its U.S. site, you can buy Tesla's Model S, 3, X, and Y using Bitcoins. Musk says Bitcoin capability will be available in other territories later this year.
That's cool and all but let's work on getting Tesla in the country first. The good news? It's not that far-fetched anymore, considering that Tesla was reported to be looking into manufacturing EV batteries in Indonesia.
