Filipino edutech Edukasyon.ph just announced the “spin-off” of Edge Tutor International, Inc., a tutoring platform started in 2022 that has since gone global. Popular among parents, Edge Tutor connects students to virtual tutors who are all licensed, certified, and trained educators.

Edge Tutor will be led by its new CEO Henry Motte-Muñoz, founder and former CEO of Edukasyon.ph.

"We are confident that, under [Motte-Munoz’s] leadership, Edge Tutor International will continue to grow and provide high-quality tutoring services to learners around the world,” said Grace David, CEO of Edukasyon.ph.

Founded after the pandemic, Edge Tutor was originally built to connect students to private tutors around the Philippines. The platform filled in the gaps in the formal education system and gave teachers an additional stream of income. The same year it launched, Edge Tutor went international, expanding to 20 countries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The platform claims growth of 50 percent quarter on quarter.
