GCash Teams Up With BPI Investment Management to Offer Two Top Mutual Funds on GInvest

BIMI funds are now available on GCash.

GCash’s investment products just got better as the super-app is teaming up with BPI Investment Management Inc. (BIMI), a subsidiary of BPI, to launch two top mutual funds on the mobile app. These funds are the Philippine Stock Index Fund and the ALFM Global Multi-Asset Income Fund.

Both of which are now live on the GInvest feature of GCash, curated for eager rookie investors looking to pool their money in more funds.

The Philippine Stock Index Fund is categorized as having an “Aggressive” fund risk rating, with an average growth of 0.66 percent in the last year. The minimum investment for this fund is P50.

Meanwhile, the ALFM Global Multi-Asset Income Fund Inc. is also considered an “Aggressive” fund with a minimum investment requirement of P1,000, and a past one-year return of -3.40 percent. Despite this, the fund also pays in dividends. This brings the total number of investment products on GInvest to seven.

GCash has been ramping up its efforts to increase financial inclusion in the country, with GInvest being the app’s mission to encourage Filipinos to learn and exercise wise investing.

“This will help bring down some of the barriers that prevent many Filipinos from investing and taking advantage of the markets. Investors will also enjoy great convenience since they don’t have to go through the hassle of physically visiting a branch just to submit documents. Everything is digital,” said BIMI President Martin Enrile.

The availability of BPI Investment Management funds on GCash is one more reason for users to try out the GInvest feature. Unlike other platforms, GCash users can easily verify their accounts and register to the GInvest feature completely online.

“Our goal has always been financial inclusion,” said BPI President and CEO TG Limcaoco. “We see GCash as an important partner and hope to expand this partnership so that more Filipinos can enjoy the financial services that will help as build a better Philippines—one family, one community at a time.”

BPI Investment Management ended Q3 of 2021 with P218.7 billion in assets under management.
