Hann Casino Resort, the new property of the group formerly known as Widus, is scheduled for a soft opening on Wednesday, December 15. The integrated resort and casino project is part of a $238 million (about P12 billion) expansion project by the Widus Group.
According to the property group, this first phase of the expansion project spans 130,000 square meters and includes a 19-storey hotel with 380 rooms, restaurants, retail outlets, a swimming pool and events venues.
First announced in February 2020, Widus Group says Hann Casino Resort is envisioned to be a “millionaire’s playground” that will offer gaming, golf, nature and outdoors, entertainment, and hospitality in an “ultra luxe” resort environment.
Hann Casino Resort includes Hann Casino, Clark Marriott, Swissotel Clark, and, coming soon, a Mercure Hotel. Once fully open, Widus Group said the entire project will generate over 1,000 jobs.
To entice visitors, the casino will offer prizes worth over P15 million, including a BMW X7.
“Despite the disruption the pandemic caused, our vision of creating the ultimate millionaire’s playground in Clark remains the same,” said Daesik Han, president and CEO of Hann Philippines, Inc. “We are set to open the first fully integrated resort in phases, and guests can expect only the finest in hospitality and entertainment.
“We remain committed to our vision of raising the concept of play into a lifestyle that people would want to discover through world-class experiences,” he added. “With the soft opening of Hann Casino Resort, we aim to attract tourists and investors to the area to help kickstart the Philippines’ economy and revive the tourism industry.”
The company said it is committing a total of $1 billion (about P50.3 billion) for the development of Hann Casino Resort and will include another expansion project in New Clark City (NCC) in Tarlac.
In NCC, three 18-hole championship golf courses are being planned. The first will be designed by Nicklaus Design, the world-renowned leader in golf course design and innovations; the second by South Korean professional golfer KJ Choi; while the third will be by Sir Nick Faldo Signature Golf Course, designed and named after the pro English golfer.
Other planned openings within the Hann resorts development include a Banyan Tree Hotel, an Angsana Hotel, a Westin Hotel, and a property under The Luxury Collection by Marriott International.
“Hann Resorts will not only bring high-end international brands to the country, but it will also showcase the global Filipino lifestyle and culture,” Han said during the launch of the Hann Resorts project last year. “We are very excited to launch this new luxury lifestyle brand in this vibrant and growing tourism destination.”
