Hotel Jen Manila by Shangri-La Is Closing Down This Month

Hotel Jen Manila, the high-rise hotel located along Roxas Boulevard, is closing down, the company announced Monday (August 22).
In a statement emailed to Esquire Philippines, New Riviera Hotel Development Corporation, the owner of the hotel building said it has decided to close the property as part of its redevelopment plans.

The hotel said it will continue to operate and honor reservations until August 31, 2022, after which it will cease operations beginning September 1, 2022.
Opened in 1995, the property once known as Traders Hotel was rebranded into Hotel Jen in 2015.

“Every effort is being made to support all affected colleagues through this transition, including the provision of a fair compensation package and extension of healthcare insurance coverage until 31 December 2022,” the statement read.
“We would like to thank all our guests, partners, colleagues for their unwavering support over the past 27 years, particularly during the challenging pandemic years,” it added. “We look forward to extending our trademark Asian hospitality to guests at our four other Shangri-La properties in the Philippines.
The four other Shangri-La properties stll currently operating in the country are Shangrila at the Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Edsa Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City, Shangri-La Boracay, and Shangri-La Mactan in Cebu.
In 2021, Shangri-La closed down its hotel property in the heart of Makati City. It initially said the closure is temprorary but it has yet to announce if it is reopening.
