Door-to-door delivery Lalamove Philippines is expanding its operations to Pampanga. The announcement comes just days after the company said it is exiting the food delivery business through its LalaFood app.

Lalamove said the move to the province north of Metro Manila was obvious, as Pampanga is a fast-growing area with a population of over two million spread out over 3 cities and 19 municipalities. The heavily agricultural local economy is supported by a thriving local furniture industry and is also known for its great food. The company said it also has one of the highest OFW-supported regions so it has a healthy consumer consumption.

Big name developers like SM, Ayala, and Century Properties have also doubled down on commercial and residential real estate development projects there. With about 26,000 registered businesses based on a 2018 PSA report, the province is also benefiting from major infrastructure projects.

“Our mission to empower communities continues to expand in coverage, as we service our Kapampangan community,” said Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director of Lalamove Philippines. “We are optimistic that our delivery service will help businesses while creating jobs for the driving community in Pampanga.”

On February 8, Lalamove said it would exit the food delivery business after almost three years to concentrate on its core business of same-day delivery.

“We express our deepest gratitude to all of LalaFood’s customers for your continued support, and to our partner riders and merchants who were with us throughout this journey,” the company said on Monday.

Aside from Mega Manila, Lalamove is currently present in Metro Cebu. Starting this month, Lalamove said it will accept partner driver applications, while day-to-day and business users can expect their services to be fully operational by February 27.

Interested partner drivers may join by downloading the Lalamove Driver app and registering under Pampanga. For more information, visit Lalamove Philippines’ website.
