This Grocery-Friendly Credit Card Has One of the Highest Cashback Rates in the Country

As many cardholders know, when it comes to credit cards, one size doesn't fit all. Some are designed for online shopping; others for gas or air miles. The most useful credit cards are the ones designed specifically for everyday use, like groceries and bills, and Metrobank’s newest product might just be the winner in that arena with its new cashback credit card that boasts one of the highest cashback rates for eager shoppers.
Metrobank Cashback Visa offers up to eight-percent cashback on every necessity, from grocery shopping to the cable bill. Cardholders who spend over P12,000 a month on essentials, like phone bills, internet bills, school modules, and tuition, can get an eight-percent rebate at a maximum rebate of P1,000 per month or P12,000 per year.
Other expenses, like online shopping, fuel, and dining, aren’t covered by the rebate offer, making this a family-friendly credit card designed to specifically help the household pay for the absolute essentials. Shops and billers that are covered by the rebate offer include Rustan’s Supermarket, Landmark Supermarket, Metromart, Pushmart, MerryMart, Globe, Smart, PLDT, SkyCable, Netflix, National Bookstore, and school tuition.
The cashback card’s annual fee is P3,500 after the first year, which is free, and a supplementary card will cost you P1,750. The card’s eight-percent rebate is on offer until August 31, after which it’ll go back to the base rate of five percent.
