Mother's Day Is GrabFood's Busiest Day... For Last Minute Orders and Gifts

Who else is still looking for a gift?

If you’re wondering what to get your mother or wife today, you’re not the only one. Mother’s Day happens to be Grab’s busiest day of the year, beating out Christmas and Father’s Day, as children all over the region cram their gifts for their moms on Mother’s Day.

According to the latest report from GrabAds, the advertising unit of the superapp Grab, 79 percent of consumers surveyed in the Philippines plan to buy gifts for their moms, and of those respondents, 89 percent plan to buy their gifts through apps like Grab this year.

Don’t feel guilty about last-minute shopping on Grab, because consumers who do cram their gifts happen to be more than willing to spend a little extra for their mothers. According to Grab, Philippine consumers order 30 percent more on Mother’s Day than on a regular day and are also likely to spend an average of 40 percent more money per order on the app.

The go-to Mother’s Day gift is often flowers, but Grab has found that cakes are also popular, with cakes experiencing four times more orders on Mother’s Day. And if you want your mom to take a breather from the kitchen, international cuisine and pizza are the most popular dishes to spoil moms on their special day.

Mother’s Day has just begun, so don’t sweat it if you don’t have a gift yet. Just browse GrabFood or GrabMart to find your perfect gift.
