The Bank of the Philippine Islands on Monday asked its clients who want to withdraw money to do it themselves, which some netizens perceived as shade against those urging Vice President Leni Robredo to withdraw from the presidential race.

Starting the post with hashtag #BPIcybersecurityTips", the bank said do not ask others to withdraw for you. The Facebook post garnered mostly "haha" reactions with more than 24,000 shares in less than an hour.

"Walang dapat mag-withdraw… para sa’yo! If you really need to withdraw, do it yourself. ‘Wag ipagawa sa iba," it said on social media.

It also reminded clients not to let others use their debit cards and not to share their PINs with anyone for their protection.

"We saw what you did there, BPI," one netizen said.

"TAG NA YAN," another said, while some netizens tagged Manila Mayor Isko Moreno to the post, telling him to heed BPI's call to "do it yourself."

Moreno on Easter Sunday asked Robredo to "be a hero" and withdraw from the race while offering himself and rivals Panfilo Lacson and Norberto Gonzales as alternative candidates.

He also denied the joint press conference exuded "macho politics" against the lone female bet.
