Ayalas Treat Merchant Partners to Two-Day El Nido Getaway
Ayala Malls knows how to treat its merchant partners. After the pandemic suspended its annual Merchants Reward event that celebrates the big and small businesses that support Ayala Malls, the company revived its merchant gathering event, this time with an event that was bigger and better than ever. Ayala Malls held its first-ever Merchant Appreciation program at Seda Lio in Lio Estate, El Nido, Palawan, gathering select partner merchant partners to enjoy a reprieve from the challenges of the pandemic.
“The Merchant Appreciation program is our way of showing our gratitude for the continued trust and loyalty of our partner merchants. The past two years have certainly been challenging. But through our shared vision and collaboration with our merchants, we continue to serve our various communities and even broaden our offerings to meet the needs and desires of our patrons,” says Ayala Land President and CEO Bobby Dy. “This event is an opportunity to reconnect, realign, and re-envision tomorrow together while enjoying the beautiful sands of El Nido.”
Ayala Land President & CEO Bobby Dy, Ayala Land Chairman and Ayala Corporation President & CEO Fernando Zobel de Ayala, Francis Kong, Ayala Malls President Christopher Maglanoc, and Senior Vice President, Group Head Commercial Malls, Commercial Offices, Hotels & Resort and ALI Capital, Junie Jalandoni.
The two-day island getaway celebrated leaders and entrepreneurs in retail, kicking off with an innovative talk from one of the most influential business speakers in the country, Francis Kong. In his talk titled “Bigger Bolder Business,” Kong doubled down on the importance of creative thinking and innovation in today’s numbers-oriented world. An entrepreneurial mindset, Kong explained, was the key to navigating today’s market.
The talk was followed by a night of revelry as partner merchants from all corners of Ayala Malls had the chance to connect, celebrate, and appreciate their contribution to the “constellation” of Ayala Malls' retail ecosystem.
Outside of the attendees from the Ayala Malls team were movers and shakers of multi-awarded brands, such as Rustan Commercial Corporation President Bienvenido III Tantoco; Primer Group President and CEO Jimmy Thai; Noble House Distribution Enterprise Inc. Operations Manager Jan Andrew Naval; Bistro Group Chairman and CEO William Stelton; Lucerne President and Managing Director Ivan Yao; Anthem Group Managing Director Ericson Lee; and more.

“We highly value our good connection with our merchants and consumers. We want to fortify it further by continuing to provide them only the best of things and holding to their expectations. This ripple effect can lead to great changes and improvements that would help elevate Filipino lives even more in this new post-pandemic world,” said Ayala Malls President Christopher Maglanoc.
During the pandemic, Ayala Malls supported its employees and partner merchants by providing and organizing vaccination drives in partnership with LGUs. And inspired by the environmental implications of the pandemic, Ayala Malls has vowed to go completely greenhouse gas-free by 2050.
Maglanoc closed the event by hinting at Ayala Malls' future plans for this exciting new era post-pandemic: “This is just the beginning; we’re ushering in a new era for Ayala Malls as we continue to innovate our strategies to be of better service to the community.”
