Manny Villar is still king of the world. Or the Philippines, at least. The 71-year-old chairman of Vista Mall is at number 352 in the ranking of the world’s billionaires, with a net worth of $7.2 billion (P350 billion). He moves 66 places down from number 286 last year despite increasing his wealth from $5.6 billion in 2020.

Ports king Enrique Razonchairman of International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), is the second richest Filipino on the list and at number 561 in the globalist, with a net worth of $5 billion. He is in a 13-way tie with other billionaires from China, India, Germany, the United States, and Taiwan. Razon saw his fortune rise from $3.4 billion in 2020. He also moved up four spots from number 565 last year.

Lucio Tan, 86, comes in at number 925 in the worldwide list and third richest in the Philippines, with a fortune of $3.3 billion, up from $1.7 billion in 2020.

Tied at number 1008, each with a fortune of $3 billion, are Hans Sy (65), Herbert Sy (64), who are children of the late Henry Sy Sr., and Andrew Tan (71) of Megaworld and Alliance Global.

Three other Sy children follow at number 1,174—Harley Sy (61), Henry Sy Jr. (68), and Teresita Sy-Coson (70)—all with a net worth of $2.7 billion each. The last Sy child in the list is Elizabeth Sy (68), who is tied with Jollibee founder and chairman Tony Tan Caktiong (68) and his family, both of whom are worth $2.7 billion.

At number 1,444 is Ramon Ang (67), president and vice chairman of San Miguel Corporation, with a net worth of $2.2 billion. His fortune is up from $1.4 billion in 2020.

Finally, tied at number 2,524, are Century Pacific founder Ricardo Po Sr. (90) and his family, and Edgar “Injap” Sia II (44), both with a net worth of $1.1 billion. Interestingly, Po and Sia are the oldest and youngest Filipino billionaires in the list, respectively.

According to Forbes, which publishes the list annually and bases it off of stock prices and exchange rates from March 5, there are 2,755 billionaires in the world this year, which is 660 more than last year. Altogether they are worth $13.1 trillion, up from $8 trillion on the 2020 list.

Jeff Bezos, who is worth $177 billion is still the richest person on the planet. His fortune is up $64 billion from last year. The rest of the top 5 includes Elon Musk ($151 billion), Bernard Arnault ($150 billion), Bill Gates ($124 billion), and Mark Zuckerberg ($97 billion).
