Finance ASec Tony Lambino Channels the Anti-Heroes of Money Heist In Front of the BSP

His code name is Los Baños.

Finance Assistant Secretary Tony Lambino got a lot of laughs when he posted a photo of himself in personal protective equipment (PPE) on Facebook.

He wore a hooded red jacket and an acetate face shield inspired by characters on the Netflix series Money Heist.

On the show, the villains take hostages and lock themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain. In Lambino’s case, he took a photograph in front of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, next door to his office at the Department of Finance.

"Di ka hinuli ng security?" asked a friend.

"Sumaludo po," Lambino replied.

In the series, the eight robbers are code-named after cities.

"Manila?" asked another friend.

"Los Baños," Lambino answered.

Lambino, an alumnus of Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and the World Bank, first entered the public realm as a 12-year-old member of the popular musical group Smokey Mountain founded by National Artist Ryan Cayabyab.

Last night, the group reunited in an online concert to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund.
