Alexcy CEO Alby Xerez Burgos and Wife Maricar Celebrate Anniversary of First Date

Alexcy Corp. President and CEO Alby Xerez Burgos first met his future wife Maricar Manese on a blind date 29 years ago.

“My number one requirement was that the guy must like to dance,” says Maricar. While she had never taken formal classes in ballet or jazz like so many other little girls, she grew up loving the dance floor.  “I knew if I ended up with a partner who can’t dance, I would be miserable.”

She was 21 and in her Madonna stage when she met Alby.

“He was game. We both enjoyed dancing. He said, it’s fun pala if your partner likes to do the same thing,” she says.

And while other couples have been driving each up the wall while in lockdown, Maricar and Alby are relishing their time together. Maricar posted a note to Alby on Facebook on the anniversary of their first date.

“We met 29 years ago on a blind date. Thank you for still taking me out on a date in our bedroom or dining room, thank you for being the best husband and best dad to our four children.

"We are complete and happy. The past few months have been the best days of our lives, we manage to have our alone time, and also have become closer to our children...Life has even been better for our family. We have the best kids. We are so blessed to have each other and I am so glad that after 114 days of 24/7 being together, I still look for you the moment I wake up, and you still look for me or manage to send me a text message just to check on me because you are in a meeting at home. I’m so glad I can live with you and the more I want to be with you."
