It's a shame that the best things in life are never free. Yes, that goes for ShopeePay e-wallet cash-ins, too, now.

Thinking of loading your ShopeePay account today? If you're cashing in via digital wallets like GCash, Coins.ph, and Maya (formerly PayMaya), you should start considering the new one-percent admin fee for your future transactions.

The new cash-in fee will be rolled out on June 2, 2022. This means that, if we were to transfer P1,000 via GCash in the future, we would only get P990 loaded into our accounts. There are, however, ways we can still avoid this.

Users can instead link their bank accounts with Shopee's verified banking partners, including BDO, Chinabank, and Metrobank, to get around the new cash-in fee. They may also cash in via InstaPay for free. Tap on the "ShopeePay Balance" icon on the app's homepage and just tap "Cash In." From there, we can choose a bank and just follow the instructions.
