Jeff Bezos, the World’s Richest Man, Is Now Even Richer With a Massive Net Worth of $200 Billion
Just when you thought he couldn’t get richer, he did. Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of e-commerce juggernaut Amazon, just saw his massive wealth skyrocket—again—after Amazon shares skyrocketed.
A new global high, Jeff Bezos’ estimated net worth is now at $200 billion, according to the latest data from the real-time Bloomberg Billionaires index.
To put that into perspective, his wealth is greater than the gross domestic products of around 150 countries.
This is the second time his immense net worth made headlines in just seven days. On August 20, Bezos’ net worth was estimated to be $198 billion, which broke records over at Forbes as this was the biggest fortune ever recorded by the magazine in its 40 years tracking the world’s billionaires.
While some businesses are shutting down, Amazon has only gotten bigger as the economy shifts to e-commerce in this time of COVID-19. Bezos isn’t the only tech billionaire whose fortune has soared. Bill Gates, March Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk have all seen their wealth increase by the billions within the last year.
In fact, tech billionaires occupy the top four positions in the Bloomberg Billionaire’s index. But although Gates ($125 billion), Zuckerberg ($111 billion), and Musk’s ($105 billion) fortunes exceed $100 billion, they’re still far from reaching the wealth of Bezos who boasts double the wealth of Musk.
