ABS-CBN Veteran Journalist Ces Drilon Signs Off

Veteran journalist Ces Oreña-Drilon confirmed that she was among the many ABS-CBN employees that were let go following the network’s failure to obtain a congressional franchise.
Just yesterday, July 15, ABS-CBN announced that an undisclosed number of workers would be retrenched and will receive separation, retirement, and job replacement assistance.
Drilon, one of the country’s leading journalists, has been with ABS-CBN since 1989. Her most recent role was heading the network’s lifestyle group.
In a tweet, Drilon expressed her sadness, saying “This was one of the toughest days I had to face. Telling fellow kapamilyas that they would lose their jobs by end of August. I lost mine too.”
Prior to heading the lifestyle division, Drilon co-anchored the news program Bandila and regularly appeared on The World Tonight as well as TV Patrol.
