It's official: the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) is extended for two weeks in the Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite bubble. The MECQ isn't just the same old thing, however, the government has said that this turn will be more flexible. By that, authorities are allowing more businesses will be allowed to operate. In the days leading to the latest announcement, the term flexible was added to the Philippines' never-ending list of quarantine phases. Metro Manila mayors called the new type the flexible modified enhanced community quarantine. From that, the phrase MECQ Flex was born. Yup, we're also getting flashbacks to when NCR Plus was announced. The new phase wasn't really made official, which is probably for the best considering that Twitter has already roasted the hell out of it.
