Cebu Pacific has issued an offical apology to Vice President Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo after one of its pilots wrote a baseless post attacking her. The carrier also debunked the claims made by the pilot on Facebook, and said it would resolve the matter internally.

"I confirm that the pilot has made it clear to us that he had no basis for his claim and was purely speculative and careless on his part," wrote Captain Sam Avila II, vice president of flight operations of Cebu Pacific Air.

"While the pilot posted his commentary on his own accord, a post he has since removed, on behalf of Cebu Pacific, and as Head of our Pilot Group, I take command responsibility and apologize unreservedly to the Vice President and the general public," Avila added.

The since-deleted Facebook post was making the rounds on social media, saying that Robredo was "holding flights" to prioritize her own. It also talked about the failed campaigns of the supposed "elites" and critcized the allegedly orchestrated "image" that Robredo, along with former Department of the Interior and Local Government Sec. Manuel "Mar" Roxas II, had.

The post ended by saying: "Move on na, please lang, for the sake of the nation... Love you, peace sa lahat."

Cebu Pacific emphasized its strict social media policies, as well. The pilot is currently undergoing a disciplinary review.
