Keep Washing Your Hands: COVID-19 Cases in the Philippines Over 30,000
The Department of Health reports that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 30,052 as of 4pm today.
Of the 653 new cases, 415 were fresh cases while 238 were late cases. Fresh cases were those whose test results were released in the past three days, while late cases were those whose results were released four days ago or more.
Of the 415 fresh cases, 52.77% (219 cases) were from NCR while 21.45% (89 cases) were from Region 7 (Central Visayas). Of the late cases, 74.37% (177 cases) were from Region 7 while the rest were from NCR and other areas.
243 recoveries were reported today, bringing the total to 7,893. The death toll is now at 1,169 nationwide, due to the 19 fatalities reported today.
Aside from that, DOH also reported that there are 20,600 active cases in the country. 96.9% have a mild case of the fatal virus, while 2.7% are asymptomatic.
