Good Samaritans, How You Can Help From Home in this Time of COVID-19
Our doctors, nurses, and medical professionals in the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic have been working 24/7 at hospitals around the country. However, there is an urgent need to augment the supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for them.
PPE refers to N95 masks, surgical gloves, 3-ply mouth masks, disinfectants, face shields, disposable eye shields, disposable non-woven gowns, disposable hoods, and disposable shoe covers that our medical workers need to protect themselves from contamination on a daily basis. Here are ways you can help support and protect our our medical workers:
TOWNS and UP Medical Foundation
The Outstanding Women in the Nation's Service (TOWNS) is working with the UP Medical Foundation to launch a fund drive for PPEs.

U.P. Philippine General Hospital
Meanwhile, U.P. Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) is requesting for donations for the following items:
- surgical masks
- face shields
- N95 masks
- surgical gowns

Office of the Vice President
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has also put out a call for PPE such as goggles, medical gowns, head covers, shoe covers, and N95 masks. It is also requesting for hot meals , vitamins, alcohol, hand sanitizer, and cleaning materials.
While the OVP cannot accept cash donations, its Angat Buhay partner, Kaya Natin! is collecting funds through this TicketMe! link. A P378.37 donation covers one PPE per health worker daily. P500 covers daily meals for one frontliner.

Vice President Leni Robredo says that as of 3 p.m. on March 15, donations to Kaya Natin! have hit the P5.8 million mark.
“With our bayanihan spirit, we will be able to overcome this,” said Robredo.
ART ROCKS
Dr. Steve Lim, a consultant at St. Luke's Medical Center, and founder of Art Rocks, an online art auction group, is raising funds to purchase COVID-19 testing kits from South Korea. He hopes to raise at least P7.5 million for 10,000 kits that he plans to distribute to hospitals free of charge.
