Fire Hits San Miguel Warehouse in Pandacan, Manila

A fire has broken out at a plastic plant under San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corp. located along Tomas Claudio Street, Pandacan, Manila.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire began just before 10:38 a.m. As per the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the blaze’s alarm level was raised to Task Force Bravo at around 11:07 a.m.
The thick black smoke can be seen as far as White Plains, Quezon City.
There are also reports that a portion of the Skyway extension in Pandacan, which is currently under construction, has collapsed under the intensity of the fire.
On December 28, just before the new year, Pandacan also witnessed another fire that engulfed the homes of 300 residents in the area. The fire, which also began at around 10 a.m., caused over P2 million in damages.
