To Go to Work, You Will Need a Special I.D. Beginning March 22
These are companies involved in the production, processing, distribution, and sale of food, medical supplies, and other essential products.
"To further facilitate transit of personnel of covered enterprises and establishments, an official IATF ID issued by the Department of Trade and Industry shall be presented starting 22 March 2020 unless extended," DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez said in the memorandum.
The industries included in this memo include:
1| Manufacturing of all food and essential products, medicine, and medical supplies (these include all food, essential hygiene products such as soap, diapers, toilet paper, and disinfectants, medicines and vitamins, and medical products such as masks and gloves)
2| Groceries, supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies, and drug stores
3| BPO companies
The DTI is now accepting applications for these I.D. cards.
Currently, those reporting for work have been showing a company I.D., proof of residence, or certification of employment to be allowed to pass through control points.
The DTI reminds all employees to make sure to observe safety protocols and social distancing measures.
