Former Senator Heherson Alvarez, 80, and wife Cecile Guidote, 78, are in critical condition after testing positive for COVID-19.
It was the Department of Agrarian Reform, which Alvarez headed from1986 to 1987, that made the announcement on March 31. The couple were admitted in a Manila hospital on March 25, and are currently intubated, according to a CNN report. DAR employees offered prayers for the recovery of the couple.
