Former Senator Heherson Alvarez and Wife Cecile Guidote Test Positive for COVID-19

Former Senator Heherson Alvarez, 80, and wife Cecile Guidote, 78, are in critical condition after testing positive for COVID-19.
It was the Department of Agrarian Reform, which Alvarez headed from1986 to 1987, that made the announcement on March 31. The couple were admitted in a Manila hospital on March 25, and are currently intubated, according to a CNN report. DAR employees offered prayers for the recovery of the couple.
Cecile Guidote has always been a supporter of the theater arts. She founded the Philippine Educational Theater Association or PETA. She also developed a national program for theater arts, which earned her a Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1972.
On March 29, a Facebook post by Dayao Ti Amianan appealed for prayers for the couple.

Alvarez and his wife Cecille Guidote Alvarez, two people who have always devoted their lives towards the betterment of our own, this is to let you guys know that they are both in serious medical condition and have been intubated at Manila Doctors Hospital.
Their children are asking for our prayers and supplication towards their recovery from this pandemic and the safety of all the heroic doctors, nurses, and frontliners looking after everyone.
