The team of former Sen. Bongbong Marcos may consider accrediting vloggers to cover Malacañang once his win as the next president of the country becomes official, his spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Vic Rodriguez, who also serves as Marcos' chief of staff, told reporters that a meeting would be held within their team later in the day to discuss the transition of the new administration.

Asked if vloggers would be accredited to cover Marcos once his presidency begins, Rodriguez said: "If that's the setup now, I don't see any reason bakit natin kailangan baguhin."

"If it's not the setup now, I think it's a good point that you have raised. Maybe we should also consider the vloggers. Kasi nga nag-transition na rin tayo from the media that we used to know, nag-shift na into digital platform," he added.

Aside from reporters from various news organizations, vloggers were also allowed to follow Marcos during the 90-day campaign period.

Rodriguez said their team would coordinate with the transition team of outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte about their current setup when it comes to media accreditation.

"If it's working, then I don't think we have to tweak it. But if it needs some improvement, absolutely we will improve it, let our friends from the media have more access to the government and to governance," he added.

Marcos is headed for a landslide victory in the presidential race after garnering over 31 million votes based on the partial and unofficial count as of Wednesday, May 11.

During his campaign, Marcos evaded tough questions about his father's dictatorship as well as other issues involving himself and his family.

He also declined to participate in debates organized by the Comelec and CNN Philippines and a forum hosted by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas. He appeared in the SMNI presidential debates and the sit-down interview with CNN Philippines.
