Man in Cebu Is COVID-19 Positive After Trip to Barber

A man from the town of Minglanilla has tested positive for the novel coronavirus after visiting a Cebu City mall for a haircut, reports Cebu Daily News. The date of his outing wasn't released, but the man, a 46-year-old, was swabbed on June 25 and is currently in home quarantine.
Just today, Manglanilla has logged nine new COVID-19 patients, bringing its total to 134 cases, 56 recoveries, and four deaths.
Barbershops and salons, which were strictly forbidden during any version of the enhanced community quarantine, were allowed (albeit with strict regulations) once the government eased into a general community quarantine on June 1.
After an increasing number of patients positive for the virus, however, Cebu City was placed on hard lockdown on June 23 when Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella cancelled 250,000 quarantine passes. Neighboring towns like Minglanilla have also been put on high alert.
It is unclear how the 46-year-old COVID-19 victim was able to cross the Cebu City threshold for a trim two days later.
