The day has come for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah. As expected, the interview unravels many of the issues that the couple has dealt with since... well, they announced their relationship.

In an explosive admission, Markle admitted she had contemplated suicide specifically because of the vitriol by the U.K. media, which as she describes was due to her existing. "It was all happening because I was breathing," she said.

Markle told Oprah that she "didn't want to be alive anymore."

"Look, I was really ashamed to have to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry especially, but I knew that if I didn’t say that I would do it," the duchess added. "I just didn’t want to be alive anymore."

The thought for Markle was a constant one, especially knowing that the tabloids were churning out weekly headlines that were racist, misogynistic, and more. While she recognized that she needed professional help, mentally, she says she couldn't just do that from the palace.
