A "production glitch" led to that viral moment of GMA anchor Mel Tiangco failing to include the network's mantra "walang kasinungalingan" during a post-election day closing spiel, management said.

GMA News' mantra in Filipino, "Walang kinikilingan, walang pinoprotektahan, walang kasinungalingan, serbisyong totoo lamang", translates to the journalism tenents of fair play, objectivity, truthfulness and public service.

Tiangco's miss caused an oin-air miscue with fellow senior anchor Mike Enriquez, who apologized to Tiangco for talking over her spiel.

“What happened was a production glitch, which happens to most live shows. It’s not Ms. Mel Tiangco’s fault," the network said in a statement obtained by PEP.ph.

“GMA remains committed to our mantra walang kinikilingan, walang pinoprotektahan, walang kasinungalingan.” it said.

Monday's election saw the only son and namesake of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., Bongbong, win the presidency by a landslide. He will be sworn into office at noon of JUne 30.

Tiangco and anchor Karen Davila went viral on election day for their hard questioning of Comelec on why some vote-counting machines failed.
