The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will be testing out on November 14 the planned traffic scheme for the 30th Southeast Asian Games opening ceremony. Convoys coming from all over the Metro will use the yellow lanes along EDSA to head to the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, which is where the opening ceremonies will be held on November 30.

A stop-and-go traffic scheme will also be implemented during the simulation. The agency previously announced the following areas where stop-and-go traffic may be implemented:

  • EDSA
  • Roxas Boulevard
  • Taft Avenue
  • Ayala Avenue
  • Magallanes
  • G. Puyat (Buendia) Avenue
  • Shaw Boulevard
  • Boni Serrano Avenue
  • SM Megamall
  • Santolan
  • SM North
  • Muñoz
  • Balintawak

Vehicles will be coming from hotels not just in the Metro, but also other parts of Southern Luzon, Metro Manila, Clark, and Subic, said the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in an online advisory. Unfortunately, the agency wasn't very specific with the details, so we suggest that you prepare for anything.
