Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head Go Gender Neutral

In 1952, Hasbro created the anthropomorphic root vegetable, Mr. Potato Head. The characters gained worldwide popularity after Disney and Pixar included Mr. Potato Head in Toy Story (1995) and Mrs. Potato Head in Toy Story 2 (1999).
In a statement released on February 25, Hasbro announced it is dropping the honorific “mister” from the brand name Mr. Potato Head and will just call it Potato Head.
“Hasbro is officially renaming the Mr. Potato Head brand to Potato Head to better reflect the full line. But rest assured, the iconic Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head characters aren’t going anywhere and will remain Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head,” wrote Hasbro.
In the past, boxes for Mrs. Potato Head were labeled with the brand's title “Mr. Potato Head,” which will be dropped in favor of just “Potato Head.”

The rebranding will take effect in the latter part of 2021 as Hasbro releases a new line of the Potato Head family, which emphasizes inclusiveness and diversity. The change recognizes that families take many forms and sizes.
“Launching this Fall, the Create Your Potato Head Family is a celebration of the many faces of families allowing kids to imagine and create their own Potato Head family with two large potato bodies, one small potato body, and 42 accessories,” Hasbro announced.
