The inauguration of the President of the Republic of the Philippines is an important ceremony that marks the president-elect's and vice president-elect's official entry into office. Ahead of Bongbong Marcos' inauguration, we're taking a look back at past Philippine presidential inaugurations of the past. From President Emilio Aguinaldo to President Rodrigo Duterte, here are 16 vintage photos of Philippine presidents and their inauguration ceremonies.

1899: President Emilio Aguinaldo

After being named the first President of the Republic of the Philippines, Emilio Aguinaldo had his first inauguration at the Holy Cross Parish Church in Cavite.

1935: President Manuel L. Quezon

On Nov.15, 1935, Manuel L. Quezon takes oath of office as the first Philippine President.
